Tortura ai tester della RC!!!

Avendo scaricato a suo tempo Windows 7 RC per provarla, oggi ricevo una proposta da Microsoft, una di quelle che non si possono rifiutare.

"It’s time to upgrade from the Windows 7 Release Candidate


While most people who tested Windows 7 have now moved to the final version, some are still running the Release Candidate. If you haven’t moved yet, it’s time to replace the RC.

Starting on March 1, 2010 your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Your work will not be saved during the shutdown.

The Windows 7 RC will fully expire on June 1, 2010. Your PC running the Windows 7 RC will continue shutting down every two hours and your files won’t be saved during shutdown. In addition, your wallpaper will change to a solid black background with a persistent message on your desktop. You’ll also get periodic notifications that Windows isn’t genuine. That means your PC may no longer be able to obtain optional updates or downloads requiring genuine Windows validation.

To avoid interruption, please reinstall a prior version of Windows or move to Windows 7. In either case, you’ll need to do a custom (clean) install to replace the RC. As with any clean installation, you’ll need to back up your data then reinstall your applications and restore the data. Per chi non avesse dimestichezza con l'inglese riassumo i punti salienti. Chi ha installato la RC, dal 1° Marzo vedrà il sistema operativo arrestarsi ogni 2 ore, senza salvare il lavoro svolto nella sessione. Inoltre, come se questo non fosse già abbastanza,lo sfondo del desktop diventerà nero con un messaggio persistente.

Chissà che messaggio sarà, mi aspetto un "MENGHIA, L'UPGRADE DEVI FARE!!!" :D

Dulcis in fundo, durante queste 2 ore si verrà martellati con popup e quant'altro che "MENGHIA, CHISTU WINDOWS NON E' GENUINO! HAI DA CACCIARE LU PIZZU!!!" :D

Nel casino del mio laboratorio devo ancora avere la macchina dove è installato, se mi ricordo la riesumo: sono curioso di vedere se questo arresto sarà del tipo "arresto critico", ovvero con un countdown che ti permetta di salvare manualmente il lavoro, o se il sistema si arresta di botto, senza se e senza ma.

La morte definitiva del sistema operativo si avrà il 1° Giugno 2010.

Ora, che senso ha tutto questo !? Voglio dire, si sapeva che la RC sarebbe scaduta il 1° Giugno, ma che cosa può sortire questa tortura di 3 mesi a cui nessuno si sottoporrà?

-il pirata, se non lo ha già fatto, passerà a una versione pirata di Windows disponibile in Rete, attivabile ed aggiornabile senza problemi :D

-il pirata smanettone tenterà, per diletto, di disattivare lo spegnimento automatico e altre amenità, e ci riuscirà :D

-il tester onesto, che magari voleva approdare a Windows venendo dal mondo Mac, si risentirà e tornerà al Mac o passerà a linux

-il cliente Microsoft ha già comprato Windows 7 da tempo, quindi sarà esentato da questa farsa

IN OGNI CASO, NESSUNO VERRA' INVOGLIATO A COMPRARE WINDOWS 7 SOTTO TORTURA.

Solo che a Redmond non lo capiscono proprio.Devono essere masochisti. :D
